Malawi owned Scilla Energy seals $40 million deal, CEO Ben Chiza Mkandawire in Africa’s under 40 millionaires

Scilla Energy owned by Ben Chiza Mkandawire has sealed a USD40 million deal with a Canadian firm to explore, process and distribute crude oil in Asia, America and Africa. Malawi Insider understannds.

The deal is a 50/50 share holding in a Silurian oil and gas ref.

Speaking with Malawi Insider, CEO for Scilla Energy company Ben Chiza Mkandiwire said the deal is a milestone for the company.

“We have so far opened branches in Mombasa and Congo with our own exploaration license in Congo basin,” he said.

The deal has made Ben Chiza who is already one of the most successful Malawians to be a majority shareholder in a fortune 500 company and also a first African to achieve such mileage.
